PROJECT ADOPTION
  
Project Hurricane Katrina Employment Training of Victims Funding Amount $5000
  
Project Defined We are a crisis relief agency that was instrumental in the 911 relief efforts. Our nonprofit was awarded "New Yorker of the Week" for the efforts in which we reached out to the youths who had lost parents/and or relatives in this horrific act. Many of the victims of "Hurricane Katrina" are now migrating to other surrounding states including Georgia. We are finding these families without food and other necessary staples to keep their families together. While we have the training expertise to re-train and offer employment opportunities, we are in need of funds to purchase a suitable building or a building conveyed to us, to offer them on-site training and employment. The property does not have to be in Georgia, but could be in a different location as long as we get exclusive rights to sell and utilize the funds to obtain a facility here in Georgia. These displaced families are in dire need of employment in addition to clothing, food and other items that are now being collected for them. Help us with the longevity of assistance and not just the immediate.
  
Project Needs This project is very crucial based upon the fact that many of the victims have losted their belongings as well as their employment. While there is an immediate need for clothing, shelter and food...we are looking at the longevity of the needs for employment as well. We seek a facility in which we can train as well as offer employment. We are seeking monetary as well as real estate assets in order to provide services to these victims of despair.
