Project HALFWAY HOME CARE AND SUPPORT CENTRE Funding Amount $5000

Project Defined PROGRAM is designed to cater for the future needs of the centers beneficiaries and community in general. Having successively completed one and a half year running a feeding program it was felt that basic education and an offset of income generating activities was necessary. The area Agricultural office has agreed to support the center in the management of the dairy goats by offering free medical checkups, structural, food and maintenance information. The project will assist the center by generating income through the sale of milk, which costs 100Kshs a liter each goat producing four liters per day. The money in turn will assist in sustaining the supply of a meal per day, pay school fees for its one High School beneficiary and rental fees. Through the offset of the project the center will be able to provide the highly nutritious milk to its HIV+ve beneficiaries at ¼ liter per day and sell the remaining to the readily available market at a reasonable price. The Agricultural officer in charge explained that the sale of one dairy Goats was 8000Kshs and the center needs four to begin with, two Boers and two doe.
