Project Sunday Spay/Neuter Clinic Program Funding Amount $2000

Project Defined The Sunday Spay/Neuter Clinic Program provides Spay or Neuter surgery, rabies vaccines and FVRCP vaccines for feral, abandoned and free-roaming cats. The program is administered and staffed completely by volunteers including Licensed Veternarians, and Veterinary Technicians. The services of the program are provided at no cost to folks in the community who are willing to trap and transport the cats to the clinic. The cats are returned to the location from which they came and are fed and looked after by caretakers. The purpose of the program is to end the breeding cycle by sterilizing as many cats as our resources will safely allow, ultimately reducing the number of cats that must live as unowned strays, or that are admitted to overcrowded pounds and shelters and euthanized. Clinics are run once each month in space donated for the day by a veterinary hospital.

Project Needs Although the staff consists of volunteers and the space is donated, we must purchase medical and surgical supplies and instruments, anesthesia drugs, vaccines and medications. On average the cost per cat is approximately $20.00. This cost does not take into account replacement and depreciation of surgical instruments. We are aiming to admit 100 cats into each clinic. A donation of $2000 would be used to cover costs associated with one of our monthly clinics.
