Project Defined When we launched the Jack Orchard ALS Foundation, we set up shop with extra equipment we had lying around the house. Two years later we are still using hand-me-down phones. If we had a professional phone system (PBX and desktop phones) we would not need a receptionist to answer calls, take messages, etc. An investment in a system suited for small business would pay for itself quickly through savings on personnel.
  
Project Needs The research we have done suggests that the best candidate system is a Panasonic KX-TA624 Advanced Hybrid Telephone System. It has all the features of an expensive PBX but costs only $400. With six deskphones, each costing $109, the whole system is a mere $1,000.
